School support

Helping skills learned in therapy show up in the classroom — and helping teachers and families stay on the same page.

Classroom with students and a teacher

What school support can include

  • Classroom observation and consultation. A BCBA observes and shares practical strategies with teachers, with school permission.
  • In-class support. Where allowed by the school and covered by your plan, an RBT may support your child during part of the school day.
  • Transitions. Preparing for pre-K, kindergarten, a new school, or middle school with visits, social stories, and routines.
  • IEP preparation. Summaries of your child's progress and recommendations you can share at IEP or 504 meetings. A BCBA may attend at your request.
  • Homework routines. Strategies for getting started, staying on task, and finishing.

Working with schools

Every school has its own policies on outside providers. Public schools may require specific approvals for in-class support. We'll help you understand the process and only enter a school with the required permissions.

We are an outside provider and don't make educational placement decisions or replace school services you're entitled to.
